She looked up at the oak tree and dropped all her stuff against he trunk then sat down and leaned against the trunk. Her cheeks were stained with tears from the constant reminders of her parents. She looked to the setting sun and wiped at her cheeks, but even if she sniffed back tears and wiped away the ones she shed she still cried. She reached down to the heart shaped locket with Maddie written across it and fumbled it in her hand as she watched the sun.
She missed everything. She missed her friends and her old home. She missed being able to ride her fourwheeler around and going out with her friends on Friday nights. The one thing she missed the most though was figure skating. She had been able to skate since she could walk, and now, now it was like something she had never heard of before.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath trying to stop the tears, but she couldn't. She finally just gave up and her violet eyes watched as the sky turned a fantastic mixture of pinks, purples, and oranges, and maybe a small hint of red. She took it for inspiration, and so she pulled out her sketch book. She sniffed back a few tears as seh pulled out a pencil then just started to sketch.

Jayce's hands were swinging swiftly by his sides as his legs moved at a steady pace. Where exactly he was going, he wasn't even paying attention. But, he had decided to go get some fresh air that evening, and so far, so good. As his gorgeous blue eyes looked to the side, the colours splattered across the sky was actually a huge surprise to him. He couldn't remember the last time that he had taken the time to enjoy a view such as this.
As he walked, his eyes fell upon a girl. One he hadn't met before, but he was sure he had seen her around. Who hadn't he seen around? As he walked closer to her, he hoped she wasn't one of those bitchy girls. Jayce ran a hand through his ebony hair, trying to get some of it away from his face. "Hey there, care for some company?" He asked, still not having realized her tear stained cheeks, for she was looking down at her sketch pad.

She jumped at the sound of Jayce's voice. She dropped her pad and tried to wipe away the evidence that she had been crying. When she finally realized it was no use, she looked at him her violet eyes resting on him. She gave him a gentle smile and nodded her head gently. "Sure."She said gently looking back down to her sketch pad. She picked up her pencil and continued the sketch.
If you were to put her in a small crowd of people considered 'normal' she would have definately stood out. If the rarely colored violet eyes didn't seem different her style did. For the artistic type she seemed to dress more like a skater or rocker, not to mention her hair. The raven hair that had shades of purple, dark blue, and even red mixed in with her natural black. She's what a lot people didn't like, someone who stood out in a crowd.

Jayce plopped down next to her against the tree, noticing her effort on trying to get rid of the evidence that showed she had been crying. His teeth came over his lower lip as he nibbled at it gently; Jayce had always been a person to worry about people. Even if he didn't know them. "You okayy?" He asked her, his voice gentle. He knew the responce he was about to get would be. 'Yeah, I'm fine'. No way would she spill her heart out to him, but he just wanted to make sure she knew he was there. Sometimes it was easier to talk to a stranger then someone you know.

She looked to him and nodded her head gently. "Yeah," She said softly. "I'm fine." She said softly knowing it wasn't very convincing. She looked to the sketch in thought and continued slowly adding in details as she went. She finally looked up at him and gave him a gentle smile. "I'm Maddison by the way, but you can call me Maddie." She said sweetly holding out a gentle hand that was painted black with hot pink squiggles down the middle of her nails.

Just the resonse he knew he would get. But, Jayce decided not to push the matter any further. He looked down at her sketch, smiling slightly. "That's really good; I wish I could draw.." He said, his words slowly fading toward the end. Jayce looked back up at her as she introduced herself, and he took her fragile hand in his, and shook it gently. "Nice to meet you Maddie. I'm Jayce. Jayce Starr."

She looked down at the sketch and smiled. It was very good, she hadn't been doing so hot the past few weeks with her drawings and sketches, but this one had helped her some. She looked at the girl riding a winged horse among the clouds. She looked back to him and nodded gently. "Everybody has their own special talents." She said gently. She looked down at their hands. "I may seem fragile at the moment, but I'm not a china doll." She said teasingly with a small smirk across her face.

At her words about everyone having their own special talents, Jayce looked up at her with a smile. "Well, can I have yours? Because.. Jaycey here, is completely talentless." He released her hand and ran a hand through his hair, grinning some at her next words. "At the moment? So I take it that Miss. Maddie can kick ass?" He rose a brow slightly at her, his grin growing slightly.

She looked down at her sketch and chuckled. "I wouldn't mind sharing a few talents of mine, if I could." She said swettly looking back to him. "You've got a talent, you just haven't found it yet. Either that or you have one and you haven't realized it yet." She said encouraginly. She looked down at her hands then up at the colorful sky as some of it was getting darker. She looked back at him and grinned. "Yes. When I'm in a kick ass mood that is. Which is pretty rare for me." She said sweetly then looked back to the sketch and put a few more little details that really made the drawing.

As she said that everyone had a talent and all that jazz, Jayce parted his lips to speak. "I like to think I have one..." He said softly, smiling back at her. As she looked back at him every once in a while from her sketch, he held the gaze as long as possible. After all, it wasn't everyday he saw someone with violet eyes. They were completely gorgeous. He laughed softly, "Well, when you are in one, call Jayce. I want to see if you're telling the truth." He looked down at the drawing, the look on his face showing that he was obviously impressed.

She smiled gently and looked at him. "Oh, come on. You look like the type of person that plays some sort of guitar. That is a talent you know." She said sweetly looking to the sunset infront of her. Her hand reached up to her silver heart locket as she looked at the setting sun and all it's beautiful glory. "Don't count on that happening anytime soon. Like I said that is a rare mood, unless someone just pisses me off really well." She said looking back to him. She finally noticed he was holding her gaze as long as he could, and she knew why too. It was her eyes. Most people just very rudely stared, but he was being very nonchalant about it, and she didn't mind since he wasn't making it so obvious to her. She looked away blushing softly. He was very cute to her and lord his eyes were drop dead gorgeous too. She brushed her bangs out of her face and behind her ear in a nervous habit then looked up as the sun began to sink into the sceanery.

Jayce’s jaw dropped as he realized that he did have a talent, “My oh my! I do play guitar!” He paused for a moment, bringing his index finger up to his chin and poking it gently, as if thinking of some more. “And photography!” He gasped, before throwing his hands around the girl. Of course, he made sure he didn’t hurt her sketch in the process. “You’re my heroooo.” He said softly, before finally letting her go. “Well, I’ll try to not be the person to piss you off. But, a little something you should know.. I get a bit annoying after a while.” Jayce shot her a bright cheesy looking smile; it grew into a small smile when he noticed that she had looked away because she was blushing. Jayce looked up at the sun setting before them, nibbling at his lower lip out of habit.

She burst out into laughter at him and covered her mouth. She gasped in surprise when he hugged her tightly. "See, I told you." She said sweetly when he finally released her. She closed her sketch pad and put it back in her bag then looked to him smiling gently. "Well, people learn to stay on my good side most of the time unless they just enjoy being bitch-slapped." She said gently looking to the sunset. She looked back to him in thought. "You can ask about them if you want. I'm not offended by people curiously gazing at them like you've been." She said sweetly refering to her eyes.

Jayce laughed softly once more when she said she told him. He watched as she put away her sketch pad, and the second her lips parted and she began to speak again, he was all ears. “Oh snapp.” Jayce responded to her b.itch slap comment. Jayce had looked back over to the sunset but when she spoke to him, he managed to tear his eyes away from the beautiful view. Automatically he knew what she was talking about. “Sorryy.” He said, even though she had said she wasn’t offended. “They’re really beautiful; I’ve never seen anyone with such an eye colour.” It hadn’t even crossed his mind that she could have coloured contacts, but hell, they were still pretty.

She looked at him and smirked. She knew what he was thinking. He was thinking she had colored contacts just like everyone else. "Thanks, and they aren't colored contacts either. Most people just rudely stare until I snap at them for it, but you.... You didn't make it obvious." She said looking to the sky as the sun was just a small sliver over the treeline. She could see the stars already. "They run in the family. It normally skips one or two generations, and I was the lucky one down the line to get it. I don't really care though, it sets me appart from the rest of the human population since you don't exactly see that many people with violet eyes." She said sweetly looking back to him.
