As if she had read his mind she replied that they weren't coloured contacts. He laughed softly at her comment about not making it obvious. "Well, I try, I try." He listened to her explaination about it running in the family and nodded slightly, showing he was interested. "You lucky duck... And, right you are, I've never seen anyone with violet eyes. Consider yourself lucky number one." He stated, holding up his index finger, with a bright smile on his face.
[[wow.. that was REALLY bad. sorryyy <3]]

She smiled looking at him. "And I appreciate it." She said sweetly looking at him after his little 'I try comment'. She smiled gently and looked to the starry sky now that the sun was gone. "Yeah, I've never seen anyone with violet eyes either, but I know I'm not the only person." She said gently looking at her hands. "So, are you new around here, or have you been here for a while?" She asked curiously looking up at him.

Jayce smiled as she said she appreciated it, suddenly glad he didn’t act like some kind of moron and stared at her. Jayce looked up at the sky before them, the stars splattered throughout the black sky. He nodded his head some at her words about being the only person and then parted his lips to answer her next question. “I moved here when I was about fourteen. So, no, I’m not new. Plenty of time.” Jayce nodded during a short pause he created before continuing. “What about you?”

She looked at the stars in thought. She didn't like that you couldn't see them as easily as back in Mississippi. She looked to him then at the few of the city from where they were. "Yeah, I just got in a few days ago from Mississippi." She said gently. There was a hint of longing in her voice. Longing to be back in her hometown with her friends and back in her house with her parents sleeping just down the hall from her room.

"Mississippi? That's cool. Is it nice there?" Jayce asked her, curiously. He heard the longing in her voice, which automatically answered his question. He knew she must have missed it; he would have too. Leaving family and friends behind was never something to smile about. Well, most of the time. He looked up at the sky again for a few moments before looking back over at her, awaiting her resonse.

She looked back to him and smiled gently. "It's no New York or Brooklyn, but it's very nice there.I prefere a place where I can see all the stars at night though. Not like here where the lights from the city drown the majority of them out." She said gently looking back at the sky in thought. She knew what she missed most of all out of Mississippi was her parents. They weren't around for her to call and talk too, and she would never see them again. She sometimes just longed to hear her mother sing her lullaby one last time.

Jayce smiled at her description. "I know what you mean about the stars. I came here from Tennessee. No huge lights to block them all away. It truly does make a difference having them at night." Now that he thought about it, he kind of missed Tennessee as well. He had left one of the most amazing friends behind and had barely kept in touch with her. He tried to keep the thoughts away though; at least for now. Or else he was bound to be in a sulky mood for the rest of the night.

She looked to him biting her lip gently. She looked back to the stars. "I feel out of place here. Smalltown girl in the 'Big apple". That idead never really mixed well to me. Now that I'm experiencing it... I don't know, it's so easy to get lost here." She said gently looking back at him. She was more of used to everybody knowing everybody and having a place to escape too when frustrated or angry that no one knew about.

"You probably still haven't gotten use to it. It's hard now, but soon enough things will level out." Jayce knew how hard that seemed to believe, but he also knew it was true. "I've always wanted to be in a big city. For me, it's an adventure, somewhat." He said, stating his views, even if he wasn't asked for them.

She looked to him and nodded her head gently. "Yeah, I guess so." She said sighing gently and looking back to the stars. She looked at him when he started to talk and nodded her head gently. "I guess, I'm too much of a smalltown girl. I liked it when I knew everyone there, and I knew who to stay away from and who to hang around." She said gently looking to the city in thought.

Jayce stretched his legs out in front of him, resting his hands in his lap. His icy blue eyes darted back over to the sky, as he wondered what time it was. Though, he had no rush to go back home. He was glad to have some company that night. Get to know someone new. He looked over at Maddie as he was about to respond. "A few more risks are going to have to be added to your life then, Maddie. Trust me, you'll get use to things fast enough. You get to meet so many new amazing people." [/blockquote]

She looked to the sky in thought listening to what he said. "What if I don't want to get used to all this?" She asked as she stood out and walked a few feet infront of him in thought. "All I want is for my life to be back to normal. I want to be back in litle ole Bailey, Mississippi with my friends, and...." She trailed off lifting a hand to her locket running her thumb over it in thought. "and my parents." She said in more of a mumble. "But that will never happen." She muttered gently looking down at her locket. She could feel the tears forming and threatening to spill, but her will power was strong and she wasn't going to cry so easily infront of him. She shuddered gently when a cool breeze brushed past her.

"What if I don't want to get used to all of this?"
Jayce looked down at his hands at the question, it wasn't something he had an answer to. His head came up and he watched as she got up and walked forward a bit. Jayce slowly pulled himself up and walked over just as slowly as she ended her words. "Honey, be grateful they aren't gone forever.. There is writing, phone, you can try to visit every now and then." He spoke softly, knowing he was probably being no help to the girl. He nibbled at his lower lip, feeling bad for her. It was never easy leaving all your family and friends behind; never.

She looked down at her feet and shook her head. "Yeah, but I could never do that with my parents again." And that's all it took for the tears to break. She didn't look at him as she looked to the sky as the tears fell. "They are gone forever. I'll never hear their voices again, and I'll never hear my mom sing our lullaby again, and....and I'll never hear my dad call me his little ice princess." She said in a shakey voice. "I'll never see them again." She said dropping her head into her hands and letting out a soft sob of pain.

Jayce stared at her, obviously confused when she said that she could never do that with her parents again. As she burst into tears, it didn't take Jayce long before he had wrapped his arms around the girl; practically a stranger. He listened to her words, his heart sinking. He hadn't expected for them to actually be gone. Suddenly, he was curious at what had happened, but he wouldn't dare ask. "Maddie.. I'm so sorry." He whispered softly to her. "You will see them again, it may be a while from now, but you will." He paused for a moment before adding, "They wouldn't want to see you crying or being so heart broken.."
