She felt her hands start to shake and willed them to steady. She didn't stop crying though. She choked back a sob when she felt him wrap his arms around her. "I know, but... but I've lost everything I loved. My parents, my happiness, I've even lost my most important dream." She said shakily as she choked back her crying and her sobs for a minute.

Jayce's teeth came over his bottom lip as it bit at it rather hard. Not having any idea what her important dream made it rather hard to give her some advice. But, he wasn't about to ask. He didn't want to hurt her more than she was already hurting. "Your happiness will come back. It may seem like life is hell right now, but everything will sort itself out." He said to her softly before adding. "God will never give you anything you can't handle. You just need to believe in yourself, Madds." Maybe this wasn't the greatest of times for a new nickname, no?

She let out a few more tears and looked up at him with those violet eyes. Her make-up was smeared now and she wiped at it gently. "Why would God take away everything I cared about though, and leave me here lost and confused?" She asked gently looking up at him then at the stars. She sniffed back a few tears and started to gently wipe at her wet cheeks.

As her violet eyes met his, he brought his hand up to her cheek and wiped away several of her tears before allowing his hand to fall down to his side. "Because he knew you could handle it. I'm not sure why it happened; i'm no genuis. But, everything happens for a reason.." He knew his words were probably being absolutely no help to her at all, but he was trying.

She looked down at the ground then back up at him. "I don't feel like I can. Just about everything I do is a constant reminder of that night or of my parents." She said gently looking to the city in thought. "I guess, I'm in better shape then the first week afterwards. I wouldn't talk to anybody. I stayed secluded from anyone and everyone." She said gently looking back to him.

Listening closely to what she had to say, he watched her. When he was sure she was finished speaking he parted his lips to let words slip through once again. "See, you grew stronger. It may have taken a while, but still." He paused for a few seconds before continuing. "A while from now you're going to look back and see how much stronger this made you, what a better person it allowed you to be." He made sure his voice came out soft and gentle.

She looked up at him and nodded gently. She looked up at the stars in thought for a moment as she listened to him. "I just... I miss them so much. I would do anything to hear their voices again if I could." She said gently looking to her feet sniffing back the last of her tears gently.

Jayce brought his teeth over his lower lip once more at her words. That, he had no idea what to say to. "I would do anything to bring them back for you, honey..." He said softly, his voice barely above the hum of a whisper. "They're looking over you, and the last thing they would want is to see you so torn."

She looked up at him atthe locket around her neck. She reached up and ipened it looking at the pictures inside. She looked back at him and nodded. "I know, but sometimes..... sometimes, it just hurts to think about them." She said gently wiping at her face to get rid of some of the wet cheeks.

As Maddie opened the locket, his eyes tore away from hers and gazed down at it. He couldn't even come close to imagining what it was like to lose a parent. Much the less both of them. He looked back up at her from the locket as she began to speak. "It isn't suppose to feel amazing.. You just have to remember all the amazing times you had with them. How much they loved you. How much they Love you."

She looked back at the locket as she listened to him. She felt a tear run down her cheek gently. She looked up at him. "That's the only thing that keeps me from staying in my bed and crying about it every day of my life." She said gently as her gaze fell back to the pictures. If she had had blue eyes and just regular black hair like her mothers instead of violet she would exactly like her mother. She remembered when ever she looked into her mother's eyes she had flecks of violet in them, but they were only visible up close.

As she said what she did immediately he began to speak the second her mouth shut. "That's what you have to remember every time you do start crying." He replied softly. His right hand came up once again to wipe away a tear that had been released from her eyes. He dropped his hand to his side and released his lips, watching the girl intently as he awaited her response.

She looked up at him and nodded gently. "It's hard not to cry sometimes though. After everything they've done for me, and themselves and they're the ones that end up dead. It isn't fair. Then the guy that caused it walked away while I was carted away in an ambulance. None of that is fair especially for my parents." She said looking at her feet shaking her head gently..

"It doesn't mean you can't cry. It's always okay to cry. You just.. shouldn't put yourself down about it so much. It's a bump in the road that you need to get through. Jayce listened to the rest of her words and nodded in agreement to it wasn't fair. At that moment, he figured that someone had possibly murdered them. But, again, he didn't ask. "If anything your parents are probably glad nothing had hurt you"

She looked up at him and smiled. "Here I am rambling on about it and you don't even know what happened." She said gently looking at him. Her parents hadn't been murdered, in a way they had, but not the way he was thinking, if he was thinking that. They had been killed in drunk driving accident. She looked to the city in thought then back to him. "I don't mind telling you, if you want to know." She said gently. She had told many people what had happened, and each time it took her longer to finally break down and burst into tears, but she was stronger each time she told someone.
