Connor sighed, soaking in the peace, the serene-ness of the garden. He was sitting on a bench, sketch book in hand. Not that he was actually drawing. He drew when things came to him, and not much had been inspiring him lately. Connor flipped back a couple pages, looking at his past drawings. They were mostly abstract junk, nothing special. Only a few things he actually liked. One of those being the one of his mother, and each of his siblings. They all mean so much to him. Connor smiled a little, thinking of his family. He looked down at the blank page he had flipped back to. Connor started sketching a few light lines on the page, but soon stopped. "What's the point anyway." he muttered, annoyed. He stood up, started walking around. He was deciding whether or not he felt like finding someone to talk to, or to just stay by himself. He'd been alone alot lately. Perhaps it was time for a change. He did indeed love to be around people. In fact he was usually quite extroverted. Since he got here though, he'd been quiet. Observing, more like. He smiled. "Alright. I'll stay alone a few minutes. Maybe try and draw something. Collect my thoughts. Then, I'll go out and meet some people." Connor promised himself before settling back down to draw.

To bad for Conner's wishes for being alone. Because it was impossible to be alone if there was someone there. Was it not? She strolled alone in the kinda dream like way she always seemed to walk in. Not exactly knowing where she was going, or what was happening around her. In her own little world was what people liked to call it. Today she was dressed simply-- or not so simply in baggy jeans (most likely from the boys section of a store) what looked like they had been taken though a compressor then spit back out, then on top of that taken home and gotten bleach dripped on them before going through the wash. Now they were belted to these thin hips by a thick black belt, and almost looked as though they were held together by the safty pins caught though the cloth. On her top the shirt was simple and a dark purple holding a picture of batman shooting into action. Whens she had found this shirt that morning she had put it on and looked down at it wondering where if had come from, and muttered Super man is better She looked past all the planted flowers to a patch of weeds the people that worked here must have missed. Plucking the wildflower from the patch she twirled it between her fingers. Smiling her thoughts turned to something else and she dropped the flower, and walked slowly away. Her warm eyes by now had caught Conner in them.

Connor saw the girl. This was good. Now he would have to keep his promise. He didn't say anything at first. He just watched. Then his pencil started flying wildly across the page. He had to capture it. Her eyes. Connor looked up. "Guess what? You're my inspiration." He held up the page, which was about half done. "Now it might be good if I knew my inspirations name. I'm Connor, by the way." Connor stood up. His inquisitive, icy blue eyes turned to the girl. Taking her in, as it were. His mother hated this look of his, she said she always felt scared, or like she was being examined. Whatever, that was just the way Connor looked at things.

Kate's smile flooded into a grin. Her eyes watched him for a second. Conner. Conner... Conner she repeated for a few moments, trying to get his name into her head. You see she wasn't amazing with names. Kate. she said, nodding in a greeting. And for the record she did not feel weird being watched, she got it... a lot.. Looking over the page that held a likeness of her on it she smiled over at the guy. "Aww boo, this is really good..." she noted sitting next to him. "You new here? Or something. Haven't seen you before." she mused slowly, still looking over the page.

"Nope. I'm the new guy. The new guy that doesn't get out much." He smiled when when she sat down. "These are okay. I'm not actually that good." He looked down at his pictures. Connor blushed as he tried to be modest. "So anyway, know a good place to go out? Maybe you should show me around..." This is where Connor would have said something witty and funny, but he got distracted. That's weird, isn't it? Well, get used to it. This is another one of Connor's oddities. Distraction in a middle of a sentence. He shook his head. "Oh, sorry. I'm weird. I forgot I was talking. What were we talking about again?" he let a laugh go from his lips.

Kate chuckled. "How about food? I'm hungry." she shrugged, and chuckled again. Standing she offered her arm. "Shall we?" she asked with a grin. With her free- unoffered hand she brushed herself off and fixed her hair. Happy to be moving again, and this time with company. o.o.c : ohmegee musless.

Connor laughed. "We shall. Lead the way."He started walking to wherever there might be food, though he had no idea where any was. "We going the right way?" he asked, laughing again. It was most definitely better being with someone. Maybe it was time to get back to his extroverted self again. It had been a while, after all.... o.o.c|| AHh! No muse.

"Yeah." Kate managed through a chuckle. Now arm-in-arm she dragged him towards the left of the gardens. "So--- new guy, where are you from?" she questioned as they started their walk. She was itching to know more about him. She was just that kind of person, she liked to get to know people.

"Well, nowhere special really. Just your average story of a dysfunctional family. You?" Connor looked around the gardens, soaking in their beauty. Then he turned his attention to Kate. It was funny. He bearly knew her, yet somehow, he felt connected to her. Connor had never like this, this kind of connection, to anyone but his family before. It was odd to him. He frowned, like a sort of puzzlement. She was a beauty alright, this girl. Maybe it wasn't so odd after all.

"Me? Well... Kinda the same... I'm the bad egg in a perfect family." she said with a laugh. She stopped quickly to bend and look at a flower, as she did so a slight drizzle started. She grinned and rolled back her head, mouth open to catch the water. After a minute or so she looked over at Conner, "Yep. That's me. The bad egg." she told him again. It was really the first time someone had asked about her family-- why she was here really. The reason she was here was because her parents didn't want her-- at least thats when was told her her... Not with words, ol' mum and dad were to soft for that, with actions she was told.

Connor smiled as he soaked in the rain. "You know, back where my family lives, it never rains. Once I moved and discovered rain, I've had this weird fetish with it ever since." Connor made a point of not saying "where I live" or "at my house". That house wasn't really a true home to him. He got up and started walking around, casting his flip-flops aside aside and putting his feet in the small puddles that were forming. "Join me!" he asked, well, more like declared at Kate.
