Gardens and flowers, not Calypso's usual scene. But just after a storm, the sky still gray but the ground dry, it was perfect. Dark enough that he could focus, but not so dark that he couldn't see. And the rain made everything smell better, kind of fresh and clean. Not to mention how it made the scents of the flowers stand out a little more, while at the same time weakening them so they weren't so like perfume. And from the rain, flowers weren't in their perfect arrangements. Some were bent, or fallen over. It made it all seem more real.
So as he walked to the school's rose garden, stopping first to admire it for a second before pulling out a camera to take a picture. There was something dramatic about it, the reds, whites, pinks, and yellows of the roses contrasting with the gray of the sky. Then, placing his camera back into the black messenger bag he continued over to a bench, and sat down. It was so quiet... kind of haunting. He was tempted to start singing the song he'd come out to work on, just for some noise, except that he didn't know whether anyone else was around.

Hope silently walked around the grounds, her heart beating oddly fast. Her mind, blank. Bored. There wasn't anything to think about, nothing to do. She felt slightly depressed from it, usually happy, now...she felt noghting. If she dared trying to think she fearedher words would mumble and fumble in her brain. The ewather was gray. That's probably why she felt the same way. She hated now much the weather effected her moods. If it was chilly, she was more likely to stray away from tohers. Warm weather was her favorite. It always made her more friendly, happy.
Her mind had wandered away and her feet had carred her over to the Gardens. The light scent of the flowers brightened her mood slighly, but not enough where she could walk up to a complete stranger. Just like the one who was sitting on a bench in the middle of the Gardens. A gauy. She tried not to become noticed, not sure if she was desturming him. Hope froze, not really knowing why. Her actions were cat-like, freezing, but still watching.

A noise.. Calypso turned his head, to try and find its source. Yes, even something as quiet as footsteps seemed amazingly loud, in comparison to the silence surrounding him. It was crazy, how the sounds seemed so much bigger, magnifying themselves. It was a good thing he hadn't started singing, he noted. Because noises didn't just appear on their own. There was someone else around. It just to him a second to find her, standing almost frozen in place.
"Hello," he said, his voice breaking the silence again. He cringed a little, at the noise. Oh, the problems with quiet. Like in a library. How even the smallest things became distractions. Calypso smiled a little, not wanting to scare the girl away. It was something about the way she'd stopped at the sight of him that made him worry so much that he'd scared her. Like a deer caught in front of the headlights, maybe. "I'm Calypso."

Hope caught herself holding onto her breath. She let it out, thinking i'd sound loud, but only a small squeak escaped from her lips. She stood up straight and pressed her lips together, afraid to speak slightly. She felt weird, standing there just staring at him, him looking back. He spoke. That ment she had to speak now. Could she speak? "Hope." That's all she said. She should have said more, but that's all that would come out...

Calypso nodded. Was he voice quieter than his, or had he just adjusted better to the noise at this point? He wasn't sure. But the contrast between the quiet and the noise of speaking was.. not so bad as it had been. "Nice to meet you, Hope," he said, quietly. She still looked.. he wasn't sure. Maybe afraid to speak to him? Or at least not enthusiastic, though he hadn't expected enthusiasm. But kind of reluctant, as though she'd rather be somewhere else, alone.

Hope smiled weakly. "It's nice to meet you...Calypso?" She was baffeled as to how to pronounce his name. Her smiled faded as she stood there, feeling a bit out of place. She let out a sigh and held her arms behind her back and looked down at her feet.

He nodded, smiling a little at her attempt to pronounce his name. "So.. what did you come out for?" he asked her, curious. She looked as if she didn't quite belong. Or, at least, felt like she didn't belong. He'd also noticed how she didn't actually look at him as she spoke, and after she spoke, choosing to focus her attention instead on her feet. "Am I that scary?" he asked, unable to stop himself from grinning a little.

Hope looked up at him and laughed, "Sorry, I'm just.....not in the very talkative mood today.....Just like one of those days where it's just better if you don't see anyone, because if you do you'll sound like an idiot?" Hope rubbed ehr forehead and kept looking at him unsure, waiting for his reply.
