Alesssandra carefully opened her chocolate brown eyes, unsure of what to expect. Slowly, but surely, she let herself take in her new surroundings. Aless had only just arrived in Brookly late last night and had instantly dragged herself off to bed last night. She gently rubbed the sleepys out of her eyes and swung her legs off the side of her single bed. Standing up, Aless walked over to the largest of her traveling bags and unzipped it. Out tumbled several pieces of her large collection of European designer pieces. After a bit of digging through her bag Alessandra found her favorite pair of stonewash denim jeans and pulled them on. A moment later she had found one of her favorite tee-shirts, a baby-doll tee with the words 'Save the Earth' on it. After pulling it over her head, Aless started piling her clothes back into the bag. Grabbing her make-up bag, Alessandra walked into her small bathroom and poured out it's contents. Picking up her foundation Aless carefully dabbed it onto her pale olive skin. Next, she pulled up a compact full of light orange blush and lightly put it on her cheekbones. Aless smiled broadly into the mirror to check how she looked so far. Taking out some earth-toned eyeshadow, Alessandra carefully applied that properly and picked out some dark brown eyeliner. She applied that and then again looked in the mirror. She looked perfect, she had done everything just the way her mama taught her. After putting all her make-up back in it's bag, Alessandra picked up her metallic gold paddle brush and ran it through her naturally wavy hair. Looking at the digital clock in her bedroom Aless realized that she didn't have time to straighten it. Heaving a sigh she pulled a hairband from her make-up bag and gently pulled her hair back into a high-ponytail. Alessandra quickly grabbed her purse and brand-new digital camera, a gift from her closest friends, the Bella's, as they liked to call themselves. She wasn't usually a big fan of taking pictures, mostly just being in them, but she had promised her friends that she would send them lots of pictures of her and her new surroundings.
Alesandra exited her dormitory and shut the door behind her. In her hands Aless held a map of the school and the grounds. She carefully walked along the mostly empty road towards the main building. As Aless walked along she started noticing all the differences between Brooklyn, New York and Venice, Italy. The first thing that Aless missed was the waterways by the roads. There wasn't really any good decoration around the school, it was mostly dorm buildings and classrooms. There were a few trees here and there, but other than that there wasn't much to look at. Alessandra tightly closed her eyes and tried to imagine herself driving to school with her friends back in Italy. At this happy thought Alessandra felt a flock of butterflies in her stomach, she was a bit nervous about starting at a new school in a new country. Normally, Alessandra didn't really get nervous, but since her latest kidnapping Aless had been more cautious and since this was a big deal it made her really nervous. There were many things for her to be nervous about as she was a foreigner. Aless was scared that people would make fun of her Italian accent. What if she wasn't popular? Sure, Alessandra wasn't stuck-up, but she generally liked being surrounded with lots of other people. Or, even worse, what if nobody likes me at all? Alessandra shuddered at the thought, she would be horrible at being a loner, Aless was very much a people person, she wouldn't be able to stand not having anyone to talk to. Sure, sge would have her friends back in Italy, but she would rarely see them in person. What if their classes are harder than the ones back at home? Alessandra wasn't one of the smartest girls, but she wasn't dumb either. She had been assigned to an American History class, something she knew nothing about and the school didn't even offer a good Italian course that could help her keep her GPA up. Finally Alessandra spotted the main building. As Aless walked towards the building she passed a large group of students, several of whom pointed at her camera and shouted arty at her. Alessandra had no clue what or who an arty was, so she just kept walking. She entered the building as confidently as possible. Spotting a glass window with the word administration above it, Aless walked over to it and said through the glass, her Italian accent thick, "Alessandra Mazzoni. I got a note saying that that there would someone here to give me a tour."
