-- Her small hand met with the dark mahogany of the library doors and she used all her might to force the heavy door open. Smirking she slipped her slim frame through the crack that she had made, and let her dark eyes survey the room for a moment. Her entrance, although quiet, seemed to have disturbed the peace in the School's library. Blushing a soft scarlet colour the girl hurridly closed the door behind her, and shuffled across towards a large shelf of books.
Ruby Haart was never a big one for reading, she found it all.. quite boring. She would much prefer to be out, listening to music. But her English teacher had forced her into writing a book review, and the only book she could ever remember reading properly was Pride And Prejudice. Running her finger gently axcroiss the spines of the books she frowned when she couldn't find the one she wanted.
Walking towards the Librarians desk she cleared her throat, catching the old womans attention. "Uhm, excuse me..." She began, in a quiet, shaky voice... "Could you tell me where to find Pride And Prejudice please..." The old lady pointed toward a stacks of classics. Smiling politely Ruby muttered a quick thankyou and walked towrads the stack, taking the book she settled down and flicked through a few pages, refreshing her memory of the story...
Taking out a small notebad, decorated with skulls, and a few beads here and there she began to take some notes on the book, although she was slowly getting bored, and loosing her patience with herself.

Well, Calypso didn't especially like libraries. In fact, he hated them. It wasn't the books, so much, although he wasn't a huge fan of them. It was the quiet concentration that he didn't like. How was a person supposed to think with that deafening silence distracting them? He didn't get it. And then, when a noise was made, it seemed even louder than he would have thought possible, compared to the silence. Each time a person turned a page, it made him feel slightly itchy, in that irritated kind of way. Didn't librarians understand that some people would be able to concentrate so much better if there was some kind of background noise? Even vacuum-static, which he usually hated, would be better than this.
So what was he doing in a library? Well, while he found it an awful place for studying, it was quite a good place for causing trouble. Especially because, after only a few days at the school, he had decided he strongly disliked the librarian. So he was here for revenge. Walking in, he let the door slam behind him... And smiled evilly, as half the room seemed to look up from whatever they were doing at the sound. Then, stopping where he was, he took a look around the room trying to come up with just what he'd do next.

The neat swirl of her handwriting began to cover the pages, although she found herself writing lyrics that were forming in her head, rather that about the book. Scrunching up her face she pulled out the page slowly, trying hard not to create too much noise. But just then, the door slammed and Calypso entered. The slamming of the door made the small girl jump, causing her hand to slip and the page to rip.
Her dark eyes almost formed a glare as she watched Calypso's evil smirk; whilst the though of causing trouble in the quite library would usually sound appealing to Ruby, she wasn't too happy about the ripped page that sat in her small hand. Angrily she continued to write, the lyrics down gone, along with her muse to do her English work.
Almost growling she picked up the book agressivly, and shoved in back in the pile. The chains that hung loosely around her minature waist rattled as she walked along, causing annoyed glances from other studiers;; but Ruby was beyond caring about these people. Her song was ruined and she wasn't happy about it.
It was strange, small things upset Ruby, like her song being ripped. But large things didn't matter. Pulling her black and blue, long locks into a ponytail she sat, her arms folded across her chest.

Calypso's hand rested in his pocket, a he looked for reactions. There were quite a few angry glares. But if the place was as loud as he would have liked, then no one would have noticed the noise. Exactly his point. He leaned against a wall, seeing a small girl stand up and, quite angrily, return a book to some pile before sitting down again. He would have continued looking around, except he was distracted by her. What had he interrupted to upset her so much? It seemed to just be homework, but she didn't look like the type to get so annoyed over just an assignment being interrupted.
So he thought it had to be something more, maybe. Something she'd been writing in that notebook? It was his best guess, although he wasn't entirely sure. But there was just one way to find out. So, walking in her direction-more quietly, this time- he tried to think of what he'd say. He could just ask her, except that she seemed annoyed enough already. But now he was only a few feet away, and he had to think quick. "Umm.. hey. Sorry, for interrupting whatever you were doing," he said, quietly. And he was sorry. He'd meant to annoy the librarian, more than anything. Not her.

-- Seeing him approach the table she was at she rolled her dark eyes, he obviously didn't care, otherwise he would have thought about his actions before going through with them. His quiet words shattered the peace and she smirked slightly. "Fine.. It doesn't matter...." She stated, slightly snappily. Breathing slowly she smriked and laughed a little. She didn't hold grudges, it wasn't her style. "Not a big fan of librarys eh?" Asked the small girl, the ends of her pink lips curling into an elegant smile. I don't understand what goes through my own head. After all you've done I still don't want you dead. So fill me with false hope and blow me away. Like something that got in your wa The lyrics to her song now face down on the table. Ruby was sort of protective? over her lyrics, as she knew people would find her strange did they ever read them. Seeing the librarin glare in their direction Ruby grinned, and waved like a small child, causing the old withces pointed nose to point in the air, as she turned to tidy her papers. She rolled her eyes as they returned to Calypso ...

He gave the girl a strange look, seeing that she'd rolled her eyes at him coming over, and then... smiled? It was odd. But, well, he wasn't complaining. He was just curious. What was she thinking, to make her seem to change so quickly? Sure, his emotions had often changed just that quickly. Because he was easily annoyed, but didn't like to be in a bad mood. He'd rather be happy. But most people weren't like that. Some actually enjoyed holding grudges, staying annoyed for as long as they possibly could. So he supposed he'd just assumed she would be the same way.
"I suppose that's the nice way to put it," he said with a nod. "It's too quiet. The lack of noise itself seems so oud." Calypso shrugged. "It gives me a headache." He'd always been like that. Even when he was alone, he wouldn't tolerate silences. He'd either put on some music, or work on one of his songs. Or do both at once. But only if he was actually alone... If he wasn't, he'd never work on his songs. He always expected everyone to hate them, to think his lyrics were stupid and his voice was awful... and his guitar playing just as bad.

-- Laughing Ruby nodded in agreement, her dark eyes flicking towards the librarian coldly. The old boot had never liked Ruby, her sense of style, her odd nature. The Librarian found her odd, and therefore held a grudge against the girl. Ruby herself simply found it funny. "It seems to magnify the effect of the smallest sound..." She said softly, a smile appearing on her pink lips as her eyes traced the spines of some dusty looking books in the corner, until they slowly made their way back to Calypso. Smirking Ruby rocked back in her chair, balancing it on two legs as rose an eyebrow in Calypso's direction. "Are you new here? It's just, I'v never seen you around before..." Smiling polited she leant forwards once more, resting her elbows against the gray table top, as she waited for his reply, the silence around consuming her slowly. {{Sorry! This sucks majorly. =( }}

He nodded in agreement, and smiled. "Exactly. Which completely destroys the purpose of having it quiet so people can focus. Because how are you supposed to concentrate on anything when just the sound of a page turning becomes loud enough to be a major distraction?" Calypso glanced at the librarian, who appeared to be glaring evilly at him. He glared right back, though, until the librarian was forced to turn away and find someone else to glare at. Calypso smiled at his small victory, and turned back to face Ruby. "See, I'm not even speaking at a normal volume, and the librarian acts as if I were screaming at the top of my lungs."
He sighed, and sat down in another chair at the table. "Yeah, it's my first week here," he told her, with a nod. "Though I haven't gone to many classes..." He smiled. "So that would explain why you haven't seen me before, and I haven't seen you." Calypso looked at her, quite sure he would have remembered seeing her before. For one thing, she was very small... That alone was noticeable. But she was also pretty. "Oh. I'm Calypso," he said, realizing that he hadn't introduced himself.

-- Laughing her eyes danced with a glint of amusement... "Precisely!". The young girl exclaimed, a little quieter that she had previously spoken, as the librarians glares were getting colder and colder; Ruby could swear the air around her was getting icier by the moment. Waving at the old woman she rolled her eyes and pulled a face, the old woman was so unbelievably pathetic it was comical to the likes of Ruby. She sighed softly, listening intently to his explanation, whilst she pulled her knees towards her frail body, in attempts to keep her pathetic limbs warm. "Ruby..." She stated with a, warm for her, smile. Biting the inside of her lip a little she asked. "Are you enjoying it here at Silkwood, then?" Her child-like eyes and innocent face turned to face Calypso as she smiled.

He laughed. And he couldn't help glancing at the librarian again, as he saw Ruby make a face at her. Calypso couldn't help smiling. It was fun to torment the old lady, simply because she seemed to disagreeable. Since when was speaking worthy of so many cold glares? And speaking quietly, for that matter. It seemed to be bother no one else as much as it was bothering the librarian. Everyone else in the room seemed to have gotten used to the hushed voices, and were now ignoring it.
He smiled, hearing her name. Ruby. Not common, yet not so unusual. It was a pretty name, though. "Sort of," he answered, honestly. "I've met some interesting people... But," he sighed. "Every teacher seems to hate me. Just because I don't feel the need to attend every class." Calypso shrugged. "But oh well. Having people I get along with more around my age is more important than getting along with the teachers. So it really could be much worse." He then looked at Ruby, curious. "How long have you been going to Silkwood?"

-- Clearing her through with a cough she laughed at his comment about classes. "Yeah I get the same thing, but hey, if you don't get caught..." Winking playfully she smiled, her finger absent mindedly tracing the edge of the tacky plastic table. Everything about this library was weird. The fact that there were old books, old mahogany shelves, and plastic furniture. It just didn't make sense to Ruby; but then again, a lot of things didn't. When asked how long she'd been attending the school she stiffened slightly, it was atouchy subject, the real reason, her version of events was much...different. "Well, I came here half way through Junior year, so about a yearand a half I guess..." She didn't care to go into any more detail about her time at silkwood, and she was quick to think of a new subject. "Met anyone nice here...?"

He laughed. "True..." Calypso smiled, leaning back in his chair. He looked away from Ruby, to get a good look at the library. He hadn't seen much of it, considering it was his first time there and he'd been spending most of that time either glaring at the librarian, or talking to Ruby. As he saw her fingers tracing the edges of the table, he noticed how horribly out of place the plastic was. It was just crazy... Like the whole rest of the room had the old, expensive library feel. And then there were the cheap tables...
Seeing her stiffen at the subject, Calypso decided not to ask anything else about that. It obviously wasn't one of those things she wanted to talk about. So he thought about her question. Anyone nice.. He nodded. "Yeah. Though I've only met girls, so far, oddly enough." He laughed. And unfortunately, all the girls he'd met were nice. So he had a small crush on quite a few different girls...

Laughing she nodded at his statement on Only having met girls. "Yeah, we're kinda the majority round here at the moment... Before the holidays alot of Guys left... It was odd, almost like they all dissapeared together, on once..." She srugged it off slightly. It didn't matter to her anyway, the only people she ever hung around with were those who bothered to talk to her. Ruby wasn't an extremely social person, she kept herself to herself... and didn't give too much away. Not unless she connected with someone instantly.
"So where were you before you came to Silkwood...?" Asked Ruby, slightly randomly, before adding "If you don't mind me asking..." Ruby was always one to tread carefully around people she didn't know much about. It could be a touchy subject for him, she knew everyone had their own little flaws. She knew all too well...

He laughed. "I suppose that works in my favor, then. I don't get along with many guys so well." Calypso wasn't sure why, exactly. He just tended to get bored, hanging out with them. It was weird like that. "Before Silkwood?" Calypso smiled. "Home schooling myself, in this same city actually.." He hadn't exactly had to move far to get to the school. Which is the only reason why his parents agreed to allow him to go to the boarding school. If it had been outside of New York, they wouldn't have even considered it. And, well, he was lucky that they had.
Before Silkwood, Calypso had been home schooling himself, as he'd said. Except that his overly strict grandparents got involved. Turns out they expected you to actually use the textbooks, an follow the required curriculum. So it came as no surprise that he failed any tests he was forced to take, on the stuff he was supposed to be learning. And so while his parents would have been fine with that -as long as Calypso was happy- but his grandparents not so much. They demanded 'proper' schooling, even offering to pay for a boarding school... And that was how he'd ended up at Silkwood. He sighed, looking at Ruby. "It's kind of a waste, you know? Switching me now, while I'm in my senior year."
