Maddie found herself in the gym just kind of exploring the school. She had heard that there was a place for the hockey team to practice. She was hoping she hadn't found it during parctice time.
She looked around the gym. She had smiled when she found the ice rink and saw that it was unoccupied. She was in a pair of black stretch pants to give her legs easy movement and a tank top with a light blue jogging jacket on over it to keep warm on the ice even though her sleeves were rolled up at the moment. You could see her knee brace poking through the stretch pants but she knew there was no way to hide it with the pants. Her black hair with red, dark blue, and purple streaks and highlights was tied back in a blue ribbon like usual and her bangs were swooped behind her ears.
She slipped on her skates leaving her bags and stuff in the bleachers then glided gracefully out on the ice. She put in her headphones from her iPod and pressed play. She moved with the music playing with a rare grace that was almost like a dancer. She first went into a combination spin. She moved out of the spin and lifted a leg gliding along on her left leg which was her good leg. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before she beautifully did a triple axel. She landed it perfectly too, but her right knee buckled under the weight and force and she fell to the ice.
She sat up carefully and took out her head phones. She looked at the skates on her foot and shook her head. "All I want to do is skate again." She said gently shaking her head as she sat on the cold ice. She had an array of talents, but the one she loved the most was figure skating and now she couldn't do it anymore.

Liz walked around the gym and noticed an ice rink. She raised an eyebrow and shrugged. Might as well skate she thought as she hurried back to her dorm and came back with a pair of white skates. She didn't do it much but her mom had given them to her. She secured them on her feet, pushed play on her iPod and sated out with her eyes closed. She skated around and when she opened her eyes she noticed a girl sitting on the eyes. Liz skated to her confused. She took her right headphone out of her ear and knelt down so she was face to face with her.
"Hey are you ok?"
Liz ran a hand through her hair before she placed her hood of her black sweater over her head. She smiled at the girl nicely. She hadn't met anyone since she had arrived at the school.

She looked up when another girl entered the rink and glided onto the ice. She looked at her with those strangely violet eyes and gave her a gentle smile as she put her iPod in her pocket. "Yeah,I'm okay." She said gently. "Could you help me up?" She asked gently looking to the girl. By first impressions, and her apperance in general, her appearance never came off as a figure skater. The hair and her normal selection of clothing is what made people think she was just a punk, but she was born to stand out and she does. She loves it too.

Liz smiled at the girl and stood up. She extended her hand to the girl. Liz wore sweats and her black sweater. She wasn't much of a skater but she knew a couple of things about it seeing as her mother was one so she had learned to skate at young age. Skating wasn't her thing though. Once the girl was up, Liz extended her hand and said, "I'm Liz. Lizbeth Garcia. I'm new here." Liz started to pull at her red hair as she smiled nicely. She had a habit of running a hand thorugh but she couldn't do that because of her hood.

She took her hand and carefully stood up. She winced at the feeling of her knee popping. It always hurt for it to do that now. She looked at her and smiled and took her hand shaking it gently. "Maddison West, but call me Maddie. Same here so I guess that shoots down my question of how nice it is here." She said sweetly relesing her hand. She swooped the stray hairs of her bangs behind her ear

Liz smiled and started to skate in small circles next to the girl. "Yeah well where did you move from?" Liz ran a hand through her hair before she placed her hood over it. She still had her headphone in her right ear when the song Get Up came on. She wanted to dance now. The routine she had made for the song had been thought to a dance class in Cali. She had spent a lot of time working on it and had been glad when she had had the chance to teach it to the class. She looked back at Maddie and smiled nicely.

She watched Liz for a moment then continued skating. She looked to Liz in thought. "Mississippi, my aunt lives in Brooklyn, so I have a place to go when I need to get away from this place." She said gently as she glided along the ice gracefully. She didn't even need music to move with grace on the ice. She moved quickly and thrusted herself up into the air and landed. She wobbled for a moment then had to put both feet to the ice and slung herself around to stop and gain her balance. "What about you?" She asked gently.

Liz closed her eyes as she skated listening to her music but still paying attention to Maddie. "Well, I'm from Cali. I lived there all my life and went to school there too but my parents decided to move here for some reason i don't care about but yeah." Liz sighed and slid to a stop carefully. "Do you like to skate a lot? I didn't even know this place had a skating ring. In my old school it was mostly about music and dancing. Hence the name Costa academy de musica."

She nodded gently. "I used to compete, but I don't want to get into why I don't anymore." She said gently as she gracefully glided across the ice on her good leg. She then moved into a small spin then stopped and looked around. "I saw this place a few days ago. The hockey team was practicing I think." She said looking back to Liz.

Liz skated around slowly gaining speed. All she liked to do was skate. Not jump or whatever else figure skaters did. Not that she couldn't do them. Growing up with a mother who has put her life into it makes you have to know how but she wasn't that into it. She slowly skated to a stop in front of Maddie. "I haven't really looked in here. Mostly the fields outside, art room and my dorm. I don't even know where my classes are." She chuckled slightly.

She looked at Liz and chuckled. "Neither do I. I've been in my dorm and this place and out to the giant oak tree they have." She said shrugging a shoulder gently. She looked down at her feet then moved backwardsswaying her legs inwards and outwards as she went making cool looking squiggle lines on the ice.

Liz nodded. She skated backwards slowly. " Yeah and it's always so cold out here. Well not always but it seems that especially to me seeing as I have lived in Mexico and Cali all my life where the sun always be shinning down on us. I guess I'm not really use to any real kind of wind." She chuckled skating back to Maddie and going backwards again as she had done first.

She looked to Liz and smiled. "I'm sort of use to it. Mississippi isn't much when it comes to cold weather, but we have a little every now and then." She said sweetly as she glided along the ice gracefully.

Liz kept going back and forth on her skates gracefully. "So much unlike Cali. The heat is just plain HOT. It's like if the sun is right on top of us." She wrapped the sweater around her as if the talk of heat made her even more colder out in the ice. She started to skate in small slow circles, hair moving around her face. She moved it away as she came to a stop. She felt her wrist and realized she hadn't brought a hair-band as she never liked to put her hair up. She sighed slowly starting to skate again.

She smiled at Liz. She unzipped her jogging coat to reveal her tank top and tossed it to Liz. "Here, you can use that for now." She said sweetly as she glided along gracefully.
